It is the second-largest artificial lake in Nepal and became a tourist attraction after motorboat and jet boat services were introduced in 2021. Named after Bharat Kumar Thapa, the mayor of Bagmati Municipality, Bharat Lake offers scenic views and is a popular destination for boating and recreation.
